  • Cheaper petrol makes it time to think about a bigger car

Petrol prices are coming down, with the biggest falls in 25 years happening now, and it's a long term trend according to the experts. That's no bad thing after years of overpriced unleaded and diesel, which has caused most of us to limit our mileage and even choice of car.

If you're thinking of a bigger, better used car in Cambridgeshire for the New Year, then LG Car Sales is the place to visit. With the experts at the RAC and Goldman Sachs predicting sub-£1 petrol prices in the near future, you don't have to worry as much about economy and cramming the family into a micro car. Now, for the first time in a long while, you can think big when it comes to our next automobile.

From a little more power under the bonnet, to a little more legroom for the driver or more boot space for shopping, a larger car lets you do more and go further, faster and in more comfort. And they usually have a few extra luxury features to take some of the strain out of longer drives.

For example, LG has a 2010 plate Mercedes C180 with a 1.8 litre engine, cruise control, traction control, rear parking sensors, electric mirrors and just £10,995.

Or, if you fancy a little more power, how about a Ford Focus ST-2 with a 2.5 litre engine. A silver 2007 model with one previous owner, it offers 225 brake horsepower and 236 ft/lb of torque with a turbo and five cylinders and will do 0-60 in 6.5 seconds.

Of course, LG has plenty more in stock, with Audi, BMW, Honda, Mazda, Renault, Seat, Skoda, Volkswagen and other makes to choose from, with plenty of models. And, with the economy picking up and the price of petrol falling, perhaps now is the time to get a car something closer to what you want, rather than one you have to put up with because it was frugal with the gas. Certainly a bigger car will make your life more comfortable, and now it won't put so much of a strain on your wallet/purse.
